William is the beloved son of Carol McCullough. Will, as he was sometimes called, was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, but graduated from Garinger High School in Charlotte. After attending Oral Roberts University, William lived in Atlanta for many years. He loved living in Atlanta, but returned home to Charlotte several years ago. William's church roots include Sawmill Missionary Baptist Church, East Stonewall AME Zion Church, and the church he grew up in, Victory Christian Center. In his professional life, William worked several customer service jobs. William was an optimistic person with big dreams. He started his own business, WM Incorporated in Georgia in 2009. William was a no nonsense kind of person with a big smile and a bigger laugh. He was an optimistic person who reveled in himself; it was okay with William to be William. He enjoyed travel, reality TV, Christmas at the beach, and his long standing personal relationship with Xbox and video games in all of their evolutions. He loved, loved, loved candy. Singing was a passion that he has always enjoyed. Last fall, he had begun to participate with Alpha-Omega II and was looking forward to continuing with them. William had an extensive vocabulary; you'd better watch when you talked with him because he might throw a "Williamism" into the conversation, and he would be matter-of-fact about what he had said. He wore and had the same things as everyone else but he would find them with a twist. He would find unique items such as cement earrings or not just a backpack maybe one with spikes or a tortoise shell. There are lots and lots of shoes. Food-what a passion! He had gourmet taste. If he ate out, it was always a three course meal with desert being the highlight at the end of the meal. At home, he introduced us to Foodie Call-restaurant options with delivery. By virtue of his birth, William was born into the unique position of being the first and only child for a number of years meriting him a lot of love and attention. He was everybody's baby, especially his Grandma Ethel's. William loved his family and friends and was fiercely loyal to them. In addition to his mother, William loved and is loved by the brother he cherished and his wife, Harold Vician and Allison Ingram; their children, his nieces and nephew-DeAsja Ingram, Addison Morman, Ava Ingram, and Ahmad Morman. William grew up with five aunts and uncles; Wilfred McCullough and Winifred McCullough of Bennettsville, Willie McCullough, Jr of Georgia, Ronald McCullough and Melony McCullough of Charlotte, NC. Additionally, William was uncle to his cousins DaReman, DeVaughn, Dylan, and Dorian Pigatt of Charlotte. William adopted his own godmother Rev. Leslie V. Johnson, and she and her husband willingly accepted their roles. The McCullough-Williams family and their connections are quite extensive; therefore, William has many aunts, uncles, cousins, and, because he loved and was loved by so many people, friends. As you know, he was very tall. If I ever wanted to find him in a room, I looked up to see whose head was towering over everyone else's-that was usually my son. During this season of his life, his spirit was heads above. He was always pleasant and would apologize if he thought his behavior was inappropriate in any way. Among his final words to me were, "Ma, I like my life, I really like my life, but if I go to heaven, let me go."
