Willie Ashmore

Mr. Willie Ed Ashmore, 83, of Charlotte, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Novant Health Hospice and Palliative Care with his loving family by his side.  He was born January 30, 1935 in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina to the late Mr. Cleveland Ashmore and Mrs. Rosa Mae Teasley Ashmore. Willie was educated in the public schools in Abbeville County, SC and relocated to Charlotte, NC as an adult. He was a retiree of C. M. Allen Construction Company.  Although Willie was a man of few words, he loved being surrounded by his family on Sunday afternoons where all his children and grandchildren would gather for dinner. In his presence, the house was always filled with joy and laughter. Willie also loved playing the guitar and enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days. Willie was preceded in death by his son, Willie Vanderick “Van” Ashmore and his step-daughter, Valerie Ann Springs; 6 sisters, Cleo Ashmore, Dorothy Bryant, Pearlie Patterson, Genensa Phillips, Annie Allen and Mary Drummer. He leaves to cherish many dear memories, his devoted wife, Helen Ann Ashmore; daughters,  Meloney Looper (Gary) and Robin Ashmore; step-son, Jerry Rinnix, all of Charlotte, NC; 1 brother, Thomas “Slim” Ashmore and 1 sister, Geneva Ashmore, both of Charlotte, NC; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.
