His Light in This World

Willie Perry, a deeply loved son, husband, father, granddaddy, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on November 23, 2025, at his home in the arms of his wife. He will be fondly remembered for his quiet nature, intuitive mind, joy of being outside tinkering with cars and tools, and his love for camping— which he openly invited everyone to join in on the festivities.

Devoted Husband

Willie and his wife Shanda were “ride or die” buddies. They were always together traveling on camping trips, visiting their children, family, and friends, looking at houses, visiting tool stores, camping facilities, and most of all eating at all their favorite restaurants. If they were not on a camping trip, they would jump into one of Willie’s vehicles early in the morning and ride for hours, stopping to shop and eat. Once you got in the car with Willie Perry, there was no time limit when you would return home.

Father

Willie was the father of four girls, and two boys. He was proud of the accomplishments of all his children. The boys are smart, possess his love for outdoor life, his talent for working on automobiles, and his love for travel. The girls are strong, focused, accomplished, and have his drive for higher education. His older daughter, Patricia Hinson, went home to be with the Lord on February 11th, 2022. She was a funny comedian, a mighty woman of God, anointed Pastor, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

His Life

Willie was born in Great Falls, South Carolina, baptized at Weeping Mary Baptist Church at the age of thirteen, and educated in the school system of Fairfield County, South Carolina. He graduated from Winnsboro High School, the University of South Carolina- Columbia, and completed coursework at Central Piedmont Community College and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He became a member of Victory Christian Center Church, Charlotte NC after marrying his wife in 1995.

May his spirit rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing to all who know him.

Goodbye, my love, though you are gone, your memory stays near. I will carry all our moments close, in laughter and in tears.

Though my heart must walk without you, I will feel your love each day. Until the time God calls me too, I will love you, always.

Your loving wife
