Willie Reid

Mr. Willie Andrew Reid was born in Charlotte, NC, on January 16, 1937, to the late Mr. Fred Reid and Eliza Ford Reid. He departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Carolinas Medical Center. Mr. Willie A. Reid retired from the CMS Maintenance Department, where he worked for 17 years. He was a faithful member of Victory Christian Center until his health failed. He loved to party and enjoy his family. Willie was preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd Williams, Willie Haywood Cunningham, Nathaniel Reid, and Freddie Reid, Jr.; and one sister, Mary E. Reid White. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: one daughter, Bertha Kirkland of Charlotte, NC; loving niece, Patricia A. Badger of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Simone Kirkland, Akeina Kirkland, Eureka Kirkland, and Steven J. Nichols, Jr., all of Charlotte, NC; four great-grandchildren, I'yanna Kirkland, Richard Kirkland, Samora Kirkland, and Jaylen McClain; four nephews, Reginald Badger, McKinley White, Jr., Robert Williams, David Williams, and a host of other nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Maxine Gordon and Mr. Robert Hartis for the loving friendship they share with him.
