Willordean Aiken Beatty, the daughter of the late Jack Brown Aiken and Martha Glover Aiken, was born in Cameron, South Carolina on May 6, 1930. Her brother, Jack B. Aiken and sister Jervoline Aiken Horne also preceded her in death.
Willordean was married to William R. Beatty, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Willordean attended Saint John’s Elementary School in Cameron, South Carolina, Myers Street Elementary School and Second Ward High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Willordean was an avid NFL Football fan. Her first love was the then Washington Redskins. That changed when the Carolina Panthers franchise came to Charlotte. She tuned in to most of their games and would be very heartbroken if the Panthers lost. Her love was Cam Newton, who she referred to as “my baby.” The Panthers have lost one of their dearest and most loyal fans.
At an early age, Willordean accepted JESUS CHRIST as her LORD and SAVIOR. She was an active and faithful member of the First Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church, where the Rev. D.K. Ferguson is Pastor.
In February 2021, Willordean’s life changed dramatically. She became a resident at Mecklenburg Health & Rehabilitation Facility, Charlotte. Her life would seem short to many, however, to family and friends who were touched by her they understand that the “Quality of Existence” far exceeds the “Quantity of Time” in which one lives. In previous years, her life, time and caring spirit of gentleness gave so much joy to family and friends.
Willordean is survived by a host of relatives and friends.
