She was a devoted mother who had the gift of caring for others, serving her community, and creating an everlasting legacy.
Blonnie Gray Williams was born on April 5, 1948, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to John and Daisy Williams. She entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2022.
As a child, Blonnie explored her many talents. She was very gifted in music and taught herself to play the piano early in her youth. She loved playing the piano and singing in Church. Her athletic career included running track and becoming a Majorette in High School. After graduating from West Charlotte High School in 1966, she furthered her education at Central Piedmont Community College and worked for over 20 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Blonnie was also very gifted working with children. She would later change careers serving her community working with the youth and their families through various roles within the Head Start program. After 25 years of service, she retired, taking time to travel with the help of her cousin Carolyn to share moments with distant family and friends, in addition to dedicating quality time to playing, singing, and dancing with her grandchildren. She loved the Lord, was an excellent mother and took extra care to invest in each of her children’s growth and success.
Blonnie was preceded in death by her brother Johnnie Williams and leaves to cherish her precious memories and to extend her legacy 5 children: Kyna Williams, Dartagnan (Tito) Williams, Sheena Sanders, Cecilia McQueen, Norcecil (Sha-Sha) Williams; (14) grandchildren; (7) great-grand-children; 2 Nephews Ronnie Williams & Dereece Williams; 1 Niece Ashley Ellis; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
