Brian Harrison Brown, Sr

January 19, 1992 — December 1, 2022

Brian Harrison Brown, Sr. passed away on December 1, 2022, following a motor vehicle accident in Charlotte, NC.  Brian was born to Marvin and Brenda Harrison on January 19, 1992, in Queens Village, NY, but was lovingly raised his entire life, and ultimately adopted as an infant by his parents Raynard and Edwina Brown.

Brian attended Incarnation School in Queens Village, NY from kindergarten through 6th Grade.  At the age of 13, Brian relocated with his parents from Queens Village, NY to Charlotte, NC.  He then attended the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and was involved in the US Army Reserves Officer Training Course (ROTC) during a school year at Marie G. Davis Military & Global Leadership Academy, where he received a ROTC Excellence Award.  In June 2011, Brian graduated from Hawthorne High with honors, to wit, President Obama’s Education Awards Program in Recognition of Outstanding Academic Achievement; Gray-Locklear Award for Perseverance & Commitment Throughout his Education Journey; and Community in Service Award. Brian subsequently attended Central Piedmont Community College.

Brian was a member of New Covenant Church of Christ (Baptist) in Queens Village, NY, where he sang on the choir, was a junior usher, and joined the Cub and Boy Scouts. He subsequently became a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

In 2016 Brian met Breana Kinsey, and on March 31, 2017, they were united in matrimony. It was then that Brian became the proud stepfather of two. Later that year they welcomed their son Brian Jr.

When Brian (Bri-Bri) wasn’t spending time with his children and hanging out with his family and friends, he was playing video games; he especially loved playing NBA 2K23 and Grand Theft Auto.  Brian loved to write poetry.  Brian’s favorite food was steak! He had a great sense of humor.  He was giving and caring and had a selfless soul.  Brian was a devoted husband, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He had many hopes, dreams, and aspirations. His parents always encouraged him to not concern himself with being like any other person, but to be the best person that he could be!

Brian worked several jobs before settling down at Brewers at 4001 Yancey, which job he loved, and where he loved and adored his co-workers, and we believe the feeling was mutual.

Brian was preceded in death by two sisters, Charisse Yvette Harrison and Raniece Janelle Brown, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Breana Kinsey-Brown; his children, Jay’len Kinsey, Cherish Kinsey, and Brian Harrison Brown, Jr. (Charlotte, NC); Kingston Jeremiah Woods (Charlotte, NC). His parents, Raynard and Edwina Brown (Charlotte, NC); Marvin Harrison (Charlotte, NC) and Brenda Wilson (Cambria Heights, NY). His sisters, Brittney Harrison (Cambria Heights, NY), and Amanda (Trish) Smith (West Orange, NJ), and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends, all of whom he touched during his short life, who loved him dearly and helped him become the young man he was.
