Hazel J. Huff

Hazel Jannette Huff was born on February 11, 1950, in Charlotte, NC to the late Ralph Barnette and Mary Irene Morgan. Hazel Jannette Huff “Aunt Jannette” was called home to be with God our father on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She departed this life peacefully from Atrium Health Medical Center. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Hazel Jannette Huff will always be remembered for her faith in God. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23.

Hazel is a graduate of West Charlotte High School (1968). She attended Central Piedmont Community College for business studies, and Plaza Beauty School. Hazel worked for more than 30 years, self employed as a licensed Cosmetologist and a second job in banking where she retired from the work force in early 2012. She then became a babysitter for her youngest granddaughter Malia Staton.

Hazel’s favorite colors were red, white, and silver. She loved to decorate for the holidays, especially at Christmas, and cooking great food and enjoying her grandchildren. She also loved to read her bible scriptures and singing her gospel songs.

Hazel was proceeded in death by two sisters Zella Louise Morgan, Joyce Ann Morgan, and one brother Fred Morgan.

She leaves to cherish her husband Benny Huff of 51 years of marriage, one daughter, Veronica Huff of Charlotte, NC, one son, Dwayne Huff (Arketha Rhodes Huff) of Charlotte, NC, one sister, Mary Person of Charlotte, NC, two brothers Julius Morgan of Hickory, NC and Atlas Morgan of Charlotte, NC, three grandsons, DeShawn Huff, Justin Huff, and Jordan Huff of Charlotte, NC, one granddaughter Malia Staton and one great granddaughter, Nova Mebane of Charlotte, NC, one aunt, Betty Davis of Charlotte, NC, long time childhood friend Annette Jones of Charlotte, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
